A CHARITY is set to open its new location this year – and needs your help to put the finishing touches on the site.Farleigh Hospice is opening a new centre in Mill Road, Maldon. It will be used to deliver the hospice’s full range of services, including day and therapy groups.
The hospice has also launched an urgent appeal to the community to help raise £100,000 to support the refurbishments in time for the summer opening. The hospice has not had a base in the district since December 2016 when the charity closed its building at the Bentalls complex in Heybridge.
Farleigh Hospice chief executive Alison Stevens said: “This is a momentous moment in the history of Farleigh Hospice.“We are so proud to once again have a Farleigh in Maldon.
“The new site is essential to ensure that everyone living with a life-limiting illness or bereavement within Maldon and the Dengie can benefit from our services.“To support the refurbishment of the new centre, we need the support of the local community to help us raise £100,000.
“Any donation you can give, no matter how small, will make a difference to our patients, helping us provide vital care and support in the heart of the community.”The hospice’s original premises had to shut its doors when a nearby factory, which supplied water, was being decommissioned.
